This ain’t your standard honeymoon cowboy. Kate and I are getting married on June 12th. It’s set to be quite the event, and writing now less than a week before it seems the nerves are beginning to build. However in the background there is a knowledge that it’s been so well planned and it’s bound to go well! The honeymoon however is a whole different story.
There are two things you may have noticed if you’ve visited this site before, Kate and I are not particularly normal when it comes to holiday choices and the more astute may have seen that a month ago we bought ourselves a pair of sea kayaks.
The plan then is simple. The day after the wedding we’ll be driving back to Edinburgh to pick up the boats and well organised dry bags and heading for Oban for the start of our journey. The aim is to spend the next 3 weeks paddling to Ullapool, a journey of some 375 kilometres. With tents packed and 8 maps in the hatch we’re looking for our first adventure as husband and wife to be an exciting and fruitful one.
For updates your best bet if to follow me on Twitter, any blog updates will appear there too. If by some small chance you live on the west coast along our route and would like to offer us a shower then please do get in touch!
