This Christmas we spent a great seven days in Chamonix enjoying a slightly unorthodox but fantastically active xmas. There were plans for our time to have some aspects of a trip but the weather never co-operated and so it became a full blown holiday which made a nice change.
The photos give a general overview and the detail dosen’t need filling in for the most part. We had a few days of driving snow in -15C which toughened us up as well as a perfectly still but bitterly cold powder day at the Grand Montets. I learnt mre than I ever have about riding off piste which was awesome. On top of that there was a sauna, more turkey and sausage than was healthy, a little skinning and lots of banter – perfect.
A days ice climbing in Argentiere made for a nice break for the legs and though conditions weren’t great we all found enough to keep us well and truly on our toes (front points?).
A great end to a great year!
